PIATEDA (mt. 304)
The history of Piateda is linked to that of Val Venina in ancient times, when they exploited the iron deposits.
On the artificial lake Venina are still traces of old mining and smelting furnaces.
Today we might say that even the two stories are linked by a double thread because Piateda is a way for the spectacular valley beyond that of Ambria and the Scàis.
Rich valleys of rivers that promise unforgettable walks.
But before leaving for a visit is the parish church of St. Anthony, a single nave with five altars: quoted for the first time in a document dated 1385, in subsequent centuries, houses a precious altarpiece of Our Lady Rosary Child with St. Dominic and a devoted, painted in 1859 by Angelo Ligari.
